Nestled in the foothills of the majestic Sierra Azules, Los Gatos is a vibrant Silicon Valley community rich in history and nature. Los Gatos means ‘the cats’ in Spanish and this charming town takes its name from the bobcats, cougars, and mountain lions who roam the surrounding hillsides.
A number of hi-tech firms have set up headquarters in Los Gatos, including industry giant Netflix, which is the largest local employer. Many other residents take advantage of Los Gatos’ laidback community and convenient location to commute to other areas of Silicon Valley.
Incorporated in 1870, Los Gatos is one of the oldest communities in Santa Clara County.

Downtown Los Gatos is surrounded by an abundance of open space. Los Gatos Creek is flanked by a wonderful walking, running, and biking trail that runs from the Santa Clara Mountains through the expansive 152-acre green space of Vasona Park and out to San Jose and the Guadalupe River.
There are a number of events held in and around the town throughout the year. Jazz on the Plazz is an always popular annual concert series that brings live jazz to the Town Plaza between June and August. Vasona Vibrations brings nine weeks of live performances to the gorgeous setting of Vasona Lake Park, and a farmers market in downtown Los Gatos offers seasonal fruits and vegetables all year round.
