WELCOME TO LOS GATOS
Elegant historic community in a beautiful wooded setting at the heart of Silicon Valley.
Nestled in the foothills of the majestic Sierra Azules, Los Gatos is a vibrant Silicon Valley community rich in history and nature. Los Gatos means ‘the cats’ in Spanish and this charming town takes its name from the bobcats, cougars, and mountain lions who roam the surrounding hillsides.
A number of hi-tech firms have set up headquarters in Los Gatos, including industry giant Netflix, which is the largest local employer. Many other residents take advantage of Los Gatos’ laidback community and convenient location to commute to other areas of Silicon Valley.
Incorporated in 1870, Los Gatos is one of the oldest communities in Santa Clara County.
Downtown retains many historic buildings which today host some of the finest restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area, along with boutique clothing shops and laidback coffee shops.
The upscale modern amenities and elegant Victorian buildings along Santa Cruz Avenue and Main Street add metropolitan sophistication to a town boasting beautiful natural surroundings and abundant open spaces. Hiking trails wind through the densely-wooded hillsides of the Santa Clara Mountains and Los Gatos Creek runs through the town and the picturesque green space of Vasona Lake Park.
